Heliconius is an online space, created to share my artwork, nature writing and research. Everything I do is inspired by the natural world and I want to help bridge the gap between science and the arts, whilst helping to raise vital funds for British wildlife. I’m based in Scotland where I completed an MSc in Wildlife Biology and now work researching pollinating insects - particularly butterflies and moths, which are the wonder of my life. My love of art is inextricably entwined with entomology - I am hugely inspired by museum natural history collections and old biological illustrations.
Heliconius is dedicated to helping the environment and 10% of all profits made here are donated to insect conservation. Wildflower seeds are also included with every order and all packaging is 100% #PlasticFree. Whether here to browse artwork or just to read about my rural ramblings, please enjoy and feel free to get in touch.
Thank you for visiting! Apithanny. X
