Heliconius is a small creative business which takes its inspiration from the natural world. Its purpose is to help bridge the gap between science and art, whilst helping to raise vital funds for British wildlife. Dedicated to helping the environment, 10% of all profits are donated to insect conservation. We also include free wildflower seeds in every order and are committed to #plasticfree packaging.

The company was established by Apithanny Bourne, a Scottish scientist, artist and lover of insects. Apithanny's work mainly involves the conservation of pollinators - particularly Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) which are her life's passion! Her love of art is hugely inspired by museum entomology collections and biological illustrations which adorn the pages of old natural history volumes. All of the artwork used on Heliconius products originate from Apithanny's sketchbook and you can keep up to date with her antics through our blog.
